Sister, He's There

Recently God has been consistently teaching me that he is always there. Without doubt, without fail, without hesitation…he is there, during it all. We don’t even have to call upon Him, because he is already with us. Sure, we are called to talk with Him and be in constant prayer with Him, but even when we mess up and even when we don’t pay attention to Him, he’s still there. There is nothing that we can do that will ever separate us from Him. Satan is the one thing that will try to separate us from Him. Satan comes only to kill and destroy.

Recently at church we have been singing a worship song that has these lines in it:

“There’s another in the fire standing next to me

There is another in the waters holding back the seas”

(Another in the Fire by Hillsong United)

This song is teaching me so much about reaching out to Jesus. The way I connect most with God is by worshipping Him. This isn’t just a recent season of my life. Over the course of the last several years I have connected with Him through worship. Usually it looks like worship at church, but recently it’s worshipping Him on my morning commute. I probably play this song about four times during my morning drive and I’m still not even to work yet. There’s something about being reminded that he’s right next to me that puts my mind in the right place for the day. I need to constantly know that he is there because he is. He is right there beside you. He is in your fires. He is in the waters with you.

I know this looks different for everyone and half the time we don’t even know what fires the day is going to bring, but we do know he will be stepping through them with us. Each day comes with its own battles. Don’t try to fight tomorrow’s battles today because He will be knee deep with you when you face those battles as they come.

Look, I don’t know what you are going through, sister. But I do know that He’s right there with you. When you don’t feel close to Him reach out to him anyways, connect with Him through prayer, seek Him in his word, and worship him regardless. He has not and will not give up on you. Don’t you dare give up on yourself.

I hope you can feel his presence. I hope that you know he is always with you. I hope that on your darkest days you continue to seek him because he is the light in the darkest days.

xoxo,

Rachel Marie
